Aggro Paladin has managed to exist throughout Hearthstone's history in large part because of Divine Favor, allowing you to play an army of cheap minions and spells, then refill your hand for the low price of 3 mana. The cards removed in Standard have slowed Aggro Paladin a bit, focusing more on minions rather than simply rushing your opponent down. Selfless Hero, Rallying Blade, and Steward of Darkshire all give the deck divine shield synergy, making it awkward for your opponent to deal with your early game minions, and allow you to buff them and take favorable trades. The deck plays more similarly to Zoolock, taking value trades early so you can push damage and focus on burst later on.

With Standard removing Minibot, Muster for Battle, and more, everyone assumed Aggro Paladin was dead. Fortunately the Old Gods expansion brought some new cards that allow Paladin to compete for early board control, which is essential for the deck. Divine Favor (aka Divine Skill) was left untouched in the nerf wave, allowing you to unload your hand and immediately refill. Selfless Hero and Rallying Blade both turned the deck into more of a Zoo-esque deck, and the array of divine shields makes it awkward for your opponent to deal with. The deck is definitely slower than its former iteration, however it still feels strong and has plenty of potential moving forward. The deck fares well against control players who often have a decent hand size, allowing you to get value from Divine Favor, but Aggro Shaman can prove difficult to overcome if they gain early board control.
